Dongguan Botanical Garden is located in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, the southern city, a total area of about 420 hectares, the park planning area of 200.5 hectares. North to the city administrative office center and Dongguan CBD, west of the water reservoir, east of the same sand ecological park, south of the water Lushan Forest Park and modern agricultural science and technology park, through the regional greenway and other urban green veins connected to form the core area of Dongguan City ecological green lung.

Dongguan Botanical Garden was founded in 1958, Dongguan County state-owned Panling Forest Farm, in 1986 changed to Dongguan City Panling Horticultural Garden, in 1998 changed to Dongguan City Botanical Garden, in 2006 with the Green World City Park merged to change its name to Dongguan Botanical Garden, Dongguan City Management and Integrated Law Enforcement Bureau under the public welfare institutions, is a "plant conservation, science education, ecological leisure" as the main function of the scenic ornamental botanical garden. Dongguan Botanical Garden is based on the original green world city park planning and construction, planned to be completed in two phases, the first phase of construction on August 1, 2016, the completion of the famous tree garden, children's botanical garden, aromatic botanical garden, rock garden, lychee garden, Wanxiang Garden, orchid garden, herbal garden, rubber culture garden, tea garden, colorful leaf botanical garden and Du Azalea Garden and other 12 plant-specific gardens, collect and display more than 3000 kinds of plant species, including the famous tree garden also has a hundred flowers, Huafangyuan, cherry blossom garden, Horse-China Friendship Garden, Australian botanical area, sand plant area, European terrace garden, flower landscape and other attractions, officially opened on April 19, 2018. The second phase of the project is mainly to improve the park infrastructure and various types of gardens, improve the scientific connotation of Dongguan Botanical Garden and social service functions. Through the construction of the first phase of the project, greatly enriched the park plant species and plant landscape, for the public to provide a more beautiful ecological leisure space, in 2019 was awarded the "Dongguan most beautiful park" comprehensive evaluation award.
