Due to the shallow focus, the location in the sedimentary layer of the Pearl River Estuary, and the concentration of high-rise buildings, which act as three "amplifiers", strong tremors were felt in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan and other places. In recent years, there have been occasional small and medium-sized felt earthquakes in Guangdong. However, compared with previous earthquakes, many people in Guangdong said that the tremors felt during this earthquake in Qingyuan seemed more intense than before.
