As the summer vacation approaches, the lychees in Dongguan enter their peak flowering period. Mid-to-late varieties such as "Mandarin Sweet" and "Guaiwei" will be available on the market in mid-June. The "Wudie Farm" expects a total production of approximately 300,000 kilograms, which is higher than last year's output of about 20,000 kilograms. The proportion of high-quality varieties in the city exceeds 90%, and the structure of high-end varieties continues to improve. Due to the favorable climate conditions this year for the growth of lychees, this year's fruit farmers will have a bumper harvest of lychees. This also means that as the output increases, the selling price of lychees in the market will also decrease.
• The initial price of "Fisher's Joy" is about 12 yuan per kilogram, and it may drop to 6 yuan per kilogram later; "Mandarin Sweet" and "Guaiwei" are initially priced at 18-20 yuan per kilogram, and will later drop to 8-10 yuan per kilogram.
• The high-end "Ice Lychee" still maintains a high price, and first-grade fruits can still be sold at 380 yuan per kilogram in the market.
Thanks to the increased market sales driven by activities on platforms like Douyin, the overall sales volume of lychees in Guangdong has seen an explosive growth. During the 618 period of the Maoming e-commerce event, the transaction volume increased by 589% compared to the previous year. In Dongguan, both local wholesale and online promotion efforts were carried out, and the buyers said, "There is no worry about sales volume."
On June 23rd, the bulk export launch of Dongguan Guilv + Xianjinfen began. One ton of lychees was transported by air directly to Dubai. The journey of 6,000 kilometers took only 8 to 9 hours. This marked that Dongguan lychees officially entered the high-end market of the Middle East through the bulk export method. It also signified that the export trade of Dongguan lychees reached a new milestone.
This year, the export volume of lychees from Guangdong exceeded 8,000 tons, accounting for over 55% of the national total. Dongguan is targeting the markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia and is accelerating the construction of the "24-hour Express Chain", including the C2C model for shipping to Singapore. Lychee distributors stated that although the mode of exporting through air transportation has higher costs, it can precisely meet the dual demands of the overseas high-end market for timeliness and quality. Currently, feedback from Middle Eastern customers is enthusiastic. The first batch of orders has been directly delivered to Dubai. They are looking forward to expanding the vast overseas high-end market and helping farmers increase production and income. In the future, Dongguan lychees will take the Middle East and Southeast Asia markets as breakthrough points, and actively explore broader international markets, allowing the fragrance of Dongguan lychees to spread all over the world.
